Bitfarms and Riot Settle Board Dispute, Paving Way for Growth Beyond Bitcoin Mining

Bitfarms and Riot Platforms reached a settlement involving changes to Bitfarms’ board, including the resignation of Andrés Finkielsztain and the addition of Amy Freedman. Riot agreed to withdraw its June requisition and accepted standstill provisions through Bitfarms’ 2026 annual meeting. Freedman, a former CEO of Kingsdale Advisors, joins Bitfarms’ Governance and Compensation Committees. The deal also grants Riot certain rights to purchase Bitfarms shares if it holds 15% or more of the company. Bitfarms aims to expand into energy generation and other revenue streams beyond Bitcoin mining.
